Jackson County is conducting a public hearing on Monday, March 17, at 8:30 a.m. The hearing will be held at the Jackson County Courthouse, 101 North Main, Room 101, Altus.
The purpose of the hearing is for the proposed CDBG Grant Application for restoration of ECR159 between SCR206 and SCR210, and to discuss the possibility of Jackson County submitting a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for 2014 funding.
“We’re seeking this grant to improve the racetrack road between 206 and 210 to connect it for Navajo School, to improve traffic flow to the school,” County Commissioner Marty Clinton said. “That road is one of the worst roads to that area and I’m trying to get this grant to help in fixing that road.”
The Board of County Commissioners requests and encourages all interested citizens to attend this meeting and to contribute information and ideas toward this program.
