Statewide election activity begins officially at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, when the official candidate filing period opens, Jennifer L. Wilson, Secretary of the Jackson County Election Board, said today.
Candidates for state offices file with the Secretary of the State Election Board in Oklahoma City. Candidates for county offices file with the Secretary of the County Election Board.
Wilson said that the following county offices will be filled this year: County Assessor - 4 year term; County Treasurer - 4 year term; County Commissioners: Dist. 1 - 4 year term; Dist. 3 - 4 year term.
