Main Street Altus’ 16th annual Rock ‘N Rumble Car Show and Cruise is set for Friday and Saturday, May 2 & 3.
This “Crusin With Main Street” event has been voted not only “Best in the Southwest” but “Premier Special Event in Oklahoma.”
Friday events start off with a Battle of the Bands contest at 6 p.m. Of course classic and other “cool car” owners will be out crusin’ the drag that night.
On Saturday, events start off with classic cars lined along the north side of the downtown square for passersby to look at. Registration for the car show and cruise is from 7 a.m. to noon that day.
The Burn Out Contest will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, a Hot Wheels Car Show will be held at 10 a.m., a Stereo Soundoff Competition will be held at 11 a.m., and outdoor concerts by Roy Lee Scott, the “Flying Cowboy” and Borderline will performed between noon and 5 p.m. At 5, the award presentations will be held. The closed cruise will start at 6 p.m., or immediately following the awards presentations.
Plaques for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in each category will be given, along with other special trophies and cash prizes. There will even be a $1,000 price for Best of Show.
