The Clean Up Altus Action Group scheduled two dates for the city-wide clean up during their meeting on Wednesday, April 30, to help keep Altus looking beautiful.

Saturday, May 31, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., will be this year’s first date to clean up all litter and trash along the main thoroughfares in Altus including Main Street, Broadway, Tamarack Road, Falcon Road, Veterans Drive, Park Lane and more. Clean up crews will also be cleaning up around the Altus Reservoir and parks.

Volunteers are asked to pick up their bags at the Altus Community Center from 7:30 to 8 a.m., get their assignment, and then go fill up their bags. Volunteers are to return between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. Bags will be disposed of in a roll-off dumpster. All volunteers are asked to bring their own gloves. Please call the Altus Chamber of Commerce at (580) 482-0210 if you have a preference of sites to clean up.

Residents and business owners can help by taking responsibility and picking up any trash they see, as well as lawn care.

The second Clean Up Altus Date is Saturday, Sept. 27, same time and location.
