ALTUS AIR FORCE BASE, Okla. - The 97th Security Forces Squadron will be hosting National Police Week May 11-17, to honor all federal, state and local police officers that have been killed or disabled in the line of duty.


Events and demonstrations will be held at various locations around the base, showcasing the skills and measures Security Forces must take in their emergency response activities. Events throughout the week include: - May 12 - SFS Eagles & Chiefs Shootout at the Combat Arms Range beginning at 9 a.m. - May 14 - 97th SFS “Gut Check” Challenge at Bldg. 492, with a 8:30 a.m. registration and 9 a.m. start time. - May 15 - Wreath laying ceremony at the base flag pole, beginning at 7 a.m., followed by an all-day guarding of the wreath, and finally, concluded by a retreat ceremony at 4:15 p.m. - May 16 - SFS Golf Tournament at Windy Trails, with a 7:30 a.m. registration and 8:30 a.m. tee time.
