The Altus Municipal Authority and City Council will hold their regular meeting where APD’s new Police Officers will swear in at 6:30 Tuesday, July 15, in Council Chambers of the Municipal Complex.
At the beginning of the AMA meeting, the City of Altus Chief of Police Tim Murphy will introduce and swear in new Altus Police Officers before the AMA considers the consent agenda. After discussion of any new business the AMA meeting will adjourn and the City Council meeting will commence.
The City Council will consider items on the consent agenda and then discuss a Resolution authorizing the City of Altus to apply as Applicant to SWODA for the FY 2015 Community Expansion of Nutrition Assistance (CENA) Program grant funds to be used for the Altus Senior Citizens Center. The grant amount would be for $2,500 to purchase kitchen equipment to benefit senior citizens.
Council will also consider to approve the Street Department to seek quotes/bids on a late model 3/4 ton pickup (new or used) to replace a pickup that was totaled in a vehicle accident in early May 2014.
Council will also consider to adopt a Resolution approving the renewal of the terms and conditions of an Interlocal Cooperative Agreement by and between Altus Public Schools and the City of Altus, initially approved by City Resolution No. 2009-18 passed on April 7, 2009, pertaining to the use of certain sales tax proceeds (MAPS for Altus) with future annual renewals to be on or about July 1, of each year until the term ends on June 30, 2021.
Council will then discuss any updates on water sources and products for the City of Altus.
Council will then enter into executive session to consider to pay, deny, or table a claim in the amount of $1,000.00 by Patrick Henry for damage to the driveway at 913 North Hudson in Altus.
Thy will also discuss a negotiation update with the IAFF, Lodge #2749, and a negotiation update with the FOP #120. In open session Council will vote on items discussed in executive session.
After discussion of any new business, the Mayor will appoint
Stephen Barnett, Krystal Martin, and Ralph VanOstrum to serve on the Downtown Altus Redevelopment Trust Authority.
Following the City Manager’s, Council members, and Mayors comments and reports, the meeting will adjourn.
