Western Oklahoma State College is embarking on an exciting and challenging journey with the beginning of a new strategic planning process that will culminate with a comprehensive strategic plan by January 31, 2015.
“Western Oklahoma State College has entered into an agreement with the Voorhees Group, LLC, to facilitate comprehensive and campus-wide strategic planning services. In light of our ongoing efforts toward quality improvement, our administration believes strongly that now is the time to engage the campus and community in this critical and essential planning exercise,” said Dr. Phil Birdine, Western President.
The college has invited an external advisory group comprised of area educators, stakeholders and partners to join with the internal advisory teams at the college to begin work on the plan.
Three focused sessions scheduled for October 1-2, November 18-19, 2014 and January 8, 2015 will bring the external and internal groups together for interviews and public forums aimed at shaping Western’s new strategic plan. In addition, Western’s Strategic Planning Committee, Faculty Senate and key administration will meet regularly to review and refine data gathered from surveys and planning sessions.
The community is initially encouraged to complete a brief, confidential and anonymous online survey, composed of five questions about Western’s future. The survey may be accessed at: http://www.wosc.edu/westernswotsurvey. The survey will close on September 19, 2014. The final survey results will be posted to www.wosc.edu/strategicplanning and shared along with other data and information throughout the process.
