New Ex-Officio Board member Lt. Col. Terri Jones will be introduced at the next regular meeting of the Altus School Board. The meeting will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. in the Board conference room at the administrative center, 219 N. Lee.
Agenda items include the Superintendent’s Reports and Comments. James LeGrand will be recognized as the 2014 Oklahoma History Teacher of the Year and a 2015 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year finalist. Superintendent Roger Hill will also give student enrollment numbers.
The consent agenda contains various contracts including the golf courses, radio, and vision and hearing impaired and special education services. Extended Day Care will also be addressed, as will activity fundraisers and travel requests.
Various policy revisions are on the agenda, including those pertaining to reimbursement for expenses, teacher evaluations, student residency and bullying.
retirements, resignations, proposed substitutes, time sheet employees, volunteers and extra duty assignments are also on the agenda.
Discussion of proposed new hires will be in executive session, with possible action taken after returning to regular session.
The declaration of items and vehicles as surplus is on the agenda, as is admission prices for High School and Junior High athletic events.
A presentation and discussion of the District Long Range Plan for the 1:1 Technology Initiative will then be given.
The Board may discuss, make motions, and vote on all matters appearing on the agenda. Such votes may be to adopt, amend, reject, reaffirm, rescind or to take no action on any item.
