The Altus Municipal Authority and City Council will receive an introduction of newly promoted Altus Police Officers during their regular meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19. Those officers include Deputy Chief Bill Perkins, Captain Mike Munn, and Lt. Tim Scott.

During the AMA, the Trust Authority will discuss advertising for an RFQ for the purchase or lease purchase of a used bulldozer to replace a rental bulldozer being used by the Sanitation Department at the City Landfill.

After discussion of any new business, the AMA meeting will adjourn and the City Council meeting will commence.

During the City Council Meeting, following audience comments, Senior Vice President of Guernsey, Ken Senour, will provide an update on the Drought Proof Water Project water line.

Items on the agenda for consideration include a Resolution to appoint the City Manager to serve on the Election Committee (Board of Directors) of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority; a Resolution to appoint a person to serve on the Election Committee (Board of Directors) of the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority; a plan for a new Senior Citizens Center to be located at the corner of E. Commerce and N. Grady and the Altus Fire Rescue expansion and remodel as recommended by the MAPS Committee; award a bid to M&M Wrecking, Inc., of Blanchard in the amount of $39,850 for the demolition and removal of the Altus Police Department building at 118 N. Grady; a Resolution amending the City Employees’ Policies and Procedures Manual regarding retiree contributions; and an Ordinance to accept the recommendation of the Altus City Planning Commission concerning an application by CP Homes, LLC, to change the zoning classification for the property located at 2500 Cedar Creek Drive from Auto-Urban Residential to Urban Residential.

Council will then consider entering executive session to discuss confidential communications regarding pending litigation of the Round Timber Water Well Field, and also to consider paying a claim in the amount of $2,675 filed by Altus G.G., Inc., d/b/a Best Western of Altus for damages to an exterior wall of the motel.

Following comments from the City Manager, Council members and the Mayor, the meeting will adjourn.
