LaNell Mobbs has been named Altus Public Schools’ Employee of the Month for the month of August. Mrs. Mobbs is the secretary to Altus High School principal and has worked for Altus Schools for the past 26 years. She was nominated for this award by her colleagues, who say, “LaNell Mobbs is second to none!” Mrs. Mobbs is known around the high school campus as “a team player” and “a problem solver.” Mrs. Mobbs has been married to her husband, Eddy, for 41 years. Together they have five children and six grandchildren. She is an active member of First Baptist Church, Altus. When asked what she like best about working at AHS, Mrs. Mobbs replied, “My AHS family, which includes the administration, faculty, staff and students. Some of the best people in this town walk the halls of Altus High School on a daily basis.”
LaNell Mobbs is the first employee of Altus Public Schools to receive this award. The APS Employee of the Month program began in August 2014 as a partnership between Altus Public Schools and Stockman’s Bank. The purpose of the program is to recognize and reward Altus Public Schools certified and non-certified employees that show exemplary individual achievement, contribution, and performance in their jobs. In addition to being recognized by their peers, employees selected during the 2014-2015 school year will receive a $100 cash prize courtesy of Stockman’s Bank. “We are excited to partner with Altus Schools,” stated Danna Robinson, President of Stockman’s Bank.
