During this week’s meeting of the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Dr. Angelia Andrews was appointed as the Hospice Medical Director and Dr. Abuelshar and Dr. Mihanni as alternate Medical Directors through April 30, 2015.
Also during the meeting, Jim King reported the highlights from the Performance Improvement Council meeting held on Aug. 6.
Michelle Ford reported that the outreach clinics had a total of 225 admissions and 125 outpatient surgeries and observations that were contributed to JCMH for the month of July.
Brett Willey rthen eported on physician recruitment activity. Recruitment efforts are focused on family medicine and pediatrics.
Fixed Assets from Funded Depreciation and Designated Funds to Funded Depreciation were approved in the amount of $186,912.68.
The board approved the conflict of interest statement determining there were no conflicts disclosed by the JCMH Board of Trustees for the period ending June 30, 2014.
The board then approved a resolution for Lionel Cross in sincere appreciation for his 19 years of service as a member of the JCMH Board of Trustees.
Dr. M. George Zakhary reported from the JCMH Medical Staff Executive Committee meeting that was held on Aug. 11. The Board approved the reappointments of Eugene D. Chen, MD – General Surgery, Active Staff; Maria G. Moore, MD – Medical Oncology, Courtesy Staff; and Senthil Nachimuthu, MD – Cardiovascular Disease, Courtesy Staff.
Nancy Davidson then presented the financials for the month of July, which resulted in a net loss of $499,546.
Mr. Steve Hartgraves gave the management report that included how the administration is working on restructuring the family practice physician contracts to aid in recruitment and retention; how Dr. Jeff Duncan and Dr. Greg Pickett have been selected as the official team doctors for the 2014-2015 Altus ISD football season. They will also have a Saturday morning injury clinic in the JCMH Orthopedic Clinic during football season; and that Dr. Kimberly Wirths, Family Practice, joined the JCMH Medical Clinic .
