The second annual Sheridan’s Sunshine Foundation Co-Ed Softball Tournament was held on July 27 at the Navajo High School softball field.

Seven teams entered the tournament that was held to raise funds for childhood cancer research. One of Oklahoma’s childhood cancer survivors, Jaxon Dugger, threw out the first pitch of the tournament as the crowd cheered him on.

The tournament raised $1,831 with all proceeds going to CureSearch for children’s cancer to fund cancer research and clinical trials for pediatric cancer patients.

The foundation would like to thank Navajo School for use of the field, Carl & Carmen’s for donating the trophies, Scott Covey for officiating, Staci Wilson for setup of the field, Judy Box for coordinating the tournament, and everyone who participated in some way to make this event another huge success.
