It was tight fit most of the way but the Altus High Bulldogs pulled away late in the game to secure a 67-55 victory over the Elk City Elks here Friday night.

Devin Wilkerson hit a lay up with 5:10 remaining in the game to give the Bulldogs a 50-48 lead, a lead they would never give up.

From that point Altus outscored the Elks 17-7. Trevaughn Pollard finished off a three point play with 48 seconds left to make it 63-55. That was to much for the visitors to overcome.

Pollard led the Bulldogs with 18 point. Malik Knight had 15 points and Wilkerson finished with 13 points.

The win avenged a 69-56 loss to the Elks in the first game of the season.

Altus is 4-1 on the season. They will play Chickasha in the first round of the Chickasha Tournament at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
