Pending approval of the Altus Board of Education at the Feb. 10 meeting, there will be a reception to introduce Jeremy Reed to the community of Altus as the new Athletic Director and head football coach for Altus High School. The reception for Reed and his family will be held in the Altus High School cafeteria from 6:30 to 7 p.m. following the board meeting.
Jeremy Reed is a 2004 graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Jeremy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health/Physical Education. In 2009 he obtained his master’s degree in Sports Administration from East Central University. Jeremy started his career in Sand Springs as the offensive coordinator. From there he was the head coach in Coalgate for one season. After completion of that season he led the offense for the Ardmore Tigers for three seasons before stepping away from the game in 2010. Jeremy returned to coaching in the 2010-2011 football season as the head coach at Dickson High School, where has been for the past 3 years. He was recently selected as the South Central Oklahoma FCA Coach of the Year for 2013.
Jeremy is married to Brooke, who is also a special education teacher. Together they have two sons, Peyton (7 yrs old) and Jeymon (3 yrs old). As a family they enjoy all there bulldogs and showing pigs together. Coach Reed enjoys playing golf and being with his family.
