It was a good night for basketball Friday for the Altus High School teams. They swept a doubleheader from the Duncan squads.

Altus made the plays down the stretch in the boys game to pull away with a 52-47 victory.

It was close most of the way and the Bulldogs trailed until 1:30 remaining in the game when J.J. Ward hit a follow shot to put AHS ahead 48-47.

Duncan did not score after that and Altus added four free throws by Kalyn Knight and Hsanti McGill.

Kalyn Knight had 13 points and Malik Knight 10 points to lead the Bulldogs.

It was the third time Altus defeated Duncan this season.

The Bulldogs are 13-4 on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs had a big game also easily defeating the visitors 63-26.

Altus scored 28 of the first 32 points of the contest.

Carsyn King compiled 29 points to pace the Lady Bulldogs.

Altus is 5-11 on the season.
