There is a buzz around town. If you haven’t heard it by now, you will. It sounds like Bulldog football.

Head Coach Jeremy Reed and his staff would like to thank the parents who attended the meeting last night, “We had a strong showing with great support.” Reed said. “It’s a great start to our season.”

The Bulldogs will begin practice Monday at 3 p.m. and run sometime near 7 p.m.

Reed explained, “Typically anything over 2.5 hours attention to detail begins to fade and the practices lose usefulness. We will take an extended break in there and provide some fruit, granola and some cool air to the kids. We will go back out with renewed focus on our next objective.”

With Vernon a week ahead of the Bulldogs concerning practice time, the practices are scheduled as a catch-up of sorts.

“With school starting Tuesday, It’s necessary for us to get into our normal daily routines.” Reed added, “We are just anxious to take the field and put this summer’s hard work to task.”

Asking Coach Reed about his summer strength and conditioning program warranted a quick response. “The gains these athletes made this summer would have to be seen to be believed. Through the years I’ve spent in football here in Oklahoma, some connections to coaches at higher levels are naturally made. Our summer program is designed right along with an in-state Div. 1 program. We do not scale it back at all. We have taken advantage of a climate friendly summer and worked these players hard,” Reed proudly claimed as he sat up in his seat.

“No team on our schedule has outworked us this summer.” That’s the sound of that buzz you’ve been hearing around town.

If you haven’t heard it, you will.
