Western Oklahoma State College’s Pioneer men’s basketball team started the 2013-14 season with an NJCAA national poll ranking of #22 and finished the 2013-14 season with a 20-9 record. Even more impressive is the number of former Pioneers who signed with 4 -year schools to complete their educational and athletic careers.
Coach Rolando De La Barrera reported that 2013-14 sophomore, Najee Senior signed a scholarship letter to play for Mercy College of Dobbs Ferry, New York. With his signing, all six members of the sophomore class team have signed to continue at other institutions.
Two third-year sophomores, Thomas Pierre-Louis and Jedarian Jackson, also completed their degrees and signed as well.
“Whenever you have 100 percent of your sophomore class graduate and sign to continue their academic careers it validates, for many of us, the reason we work with young people,” said Coach De La Barrera.
