Betty was born on June 12, 1945, to Les and Betty Jo (Barrett) Veach in Mangum. She moved back to Mangum two years ago from Amarillo, Texas, after retiring from teaching school and later working for High Plains Baptist Medical Center. As a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Mangum, Betty played the piano for her church and volunteered her talents in assisting with the secretarial work at church when she was needed. Attending concerts, playing the piano and enjoying music were some of Betty's favorite things to do. Betty served as a volunteer in helping other people complete their taxes, was a member of Bi Sigma Phi in Altus and Amarillo, and belonged to ESA in Mangum. But her first love was teaching children.
Betty is survived by her father and mother, Les and Betty Jo Veach of Mangum; one brother, L. Wayne Veach and wife Sheryl of Norman; one sister, Janie Landers and husband Dale of Altus; special nieces and nephews, Shandyll Landers of Altus, Virginia Jo Rhodes and husband Haywood of Durham, N.C., Michael Veach and wife Heather of Norman, Jamie Lynn Landers of Altus and Justin Landers and wife Jamie of Altus; two great-nieces, Katlyn Randolph and Maggie Bell Landers; and two great-nephews, Jessie Stevenson and Ty Stevenson all of Altus.
