According to District Attorney John Wampler, the arrests were the culmination of a six-month-long investigation spearheaded by the District Three DA Drug Task Force and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.
Of the 28 individuals that law enforcement had arrest warrants for, 23 have been arrested. Those arrested in Jackson County were Jennifer Mcintyre for distribution of crack cocaine; Charles Shaw for distribution of crack cocaine; Dalia Esquivel for conspiracy to distribute a controlled and dangerous substance; Melinda Cantu for distribution of heroin; Eric Baze for distribution of methanmphetamine; Robini Wooldridge for distribution of crack cocaine; Nina Walker for distribution of methamphetamine; Jeffrey Flores for distribution of methamphetamine; Joe Coleman for distribution of crack cocaine; Larry Hill for distribution of mehtamphetamine; Amber Pride for posession of a controlled and dangerous substance; and Norman Glober on a Greer County warrant.
Those arrested in Tillman during the sweep were Dennis Williams for distribution of methamphetamine; Crystal Lamb for distribution of methamphetamine; Alford Cathey for distribution of crack cocaine; Tommy Gonzales for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine; Christi Turner for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine; Aleasia Wilcox for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine; Wendy Elliott for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine; Ronald Briggs for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine; Tanya Tucker for distribution of methamphetamine; Heather Johnson for harboring a fugitive; and Jon Reddin for possession of a controlled and dangerous substance (marijuana).
Law enforcement officers left their staging areas shortly after dawn Friday morning and fanned out across Jackson, Tillman and Kiowa Counties in search of the defendants. By 9 a.m., they had at least 19 individuals in custody.
According to District Attorney John Wampler, tmany of the defendants have prior criminal histories.
Other agencies assisting with the investigation and roundup were the Jackson, Tillman and Kiowa County Sheriff’s Offices, Altus Police Department, Frederick Police Department, and Troop M. of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
There are still five outstanding arrest warrants in connection with the sweep.
