The 51st Annual Quail Breakfast is scheduled for March 19 - 21. Approximately 35 people from Altus are set to make the trip to Washington D.C. this year. On Tuesday March 19, the Altus group and selected guests will have dinner with all those attending from Altus at the Phoenix Park Hotel. The dinner is hosted by the Altus Military Affairs Committee.

On Wednesday, March 20 meetings are scheduled with the Oklahoma Congressional delegation including office visits with Sen. James Inhofe and Sen. Tom Coburn. Then the Altus delegation will travel to the Library of Congress and each of the Oklahoma Congressmen will visit about issues affecting our country. Later in the afternoon a meeting of the Altus group will be held with Slim Marlar of Robison International. The Altus group will be briefed on the on-going projects for Altus.

That evening, the Altus delegation will host a congressional reception for the Oklahoma elected officials and their staff members at the Phoenix Park Hotel.

On Thursday morning, The 51st Annual Quail Breakfast will take place in the Kennedy Caucus Room in the Senate Russell Building with Sen. Inhofe serving as host. They anticipate over 155 people to attend this year’s breakfast.

The breakfast menu includes the traditional fried quail, eggs, biscuits and gravy and hash browns. Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley and Gen. Mark A. Welsh, III, USAF Chief of Staff will address the group.

Dr. Joe Leverett, Chairman of the Military Affairs Committee, said that the Altus community has been making these annual trips to Washington DC in an effort to show our appreciation of the work of the Oklahoma delegation. This is also a time to thank all those leaders at the Pentagon for what the Air Force does in safe guarding our country.
