The Altus Junior High 7th grade girls basketball team defeated rival Duncan 24-11 last Thursday.
Altus started out the game by outscoring the Lady Demons 9-4 in the first quarter. Angela Edwards and Kady Worth led Altus in the quarter with four points each.
The Lady Dawgs kept up their defensive pressure in the second frame and outscored Duncan 4-0 to take a 13-4 lead into the half.
The third quarter was another dominate performance by the Lady Dawg defense as they held Duncan scoreless again while scoring seven points to take a 20-4 lead into the final quarter.
Duncan was able to outscore the Lady Dawgs 7-4 in the final frame but that was too little too late and the Lady Dawgs went on to victory 24-11.
Worth led Altus with 11 points while Edwards added six points. Next action for the Lady Dawgs (5-7) will be Thursday when they travel to Lawton Tomlinson.
