Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy has reported that on Oct. 28, at approximately 4 p.m., officers of the Altus Police Department responded to 113 S. Blain. A caller told the dispatcher that someone had been stabbed. Upon arriving, officers made contact with the victim, David Robinson, 58, who suffered a laceration under his left arm.
The victim, along with witnesses, stated that the suspect, Jackson Barker Jr., 53, had gone to 113 South Blain two other times during the day attempting to start a fight with the victim. The victim was treated at the scene for his injuries, by Emergency Medication Services personnel.
After the altercation, the suspect was found walking in the 400 block of North Hudson. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Jackson County Jail. Barker has been charged with Assault With a Deadly Weapon.
