Ricky Don Adams, 54, of Altus, who had been accused of embezzling from the Grandfield Co-op, was sentenced this week in Tillman County District Court to 10 years in prison.

All but six months of Adams’ sentence was suspended, serving his time on weekends ini the Tillman County Jail, with credit for time already served. Adams will also have to pay nearly $40,000 in restitution over the next 10 years to cover the cost of equipment taken from the Co-op and sold to area farmers.

Adams, who was manager of the graini elevator for four years, pleaded guilty to stealing the equipment.

He was arrested in January after a company audit revealed how much equipment was missing.
