Charlene Atkins, 66, of Altus, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at her home. The family will hold a celebration of life in honor of Charlene at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 19, at the New Beginnings With A New Hope Baptist Church with De W. Jones officiating.

Charlene Stern was born to Charlie and Pearlie (Flord) Stern on April 14, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. She married Bobby Atkins in California in 1978. She worked in Home Health Care. She enjoyed playing Tunk. Her true love was being with her children, grandchildren and all her extended family.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son, Jerry Cleveland.

She is survived by three sons, Tony Cleveland of Enid, Edward Charles Cleveland of Anchorage, AK, and Mark Cleveland of Enid; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eslene Fleming of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Pearlie Mae Dunn of Altus; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
