Carole Mumford’s second book in the Magnificent Six Adventure Series, “Christmas Vacation in Colorado” has been published. She will have a book signing at the Hastings Books, Music & Videos, 1700 N. Main on Saturday, July 18 in Altus from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This new adventure has the Six cousins and the rest of their family plus some new and old friends discover one of the biggest mysteries of the twenty-first century in the scenic mountains of Colorado. Did they really discover Bigfoot? Are there really bats in the attic? You have to read the book to discover the answers. Excitement follows this family wherever they go.

Carole’s books, the Magnificent Six Adventures use her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as characters in this fictitious adventure, as well as some of her friend’s grandchildren. Brandon and Braxton Webb, Ashley and Heather Monroe, and Bobby and Linds Doolin are the “Magnificent Six”. These series of books are for children 6 to 14 and are fun for all ages to read.

Her first book in the series, “The Magnificent Six, Their Yellowstone Adventure” follows the cousins visit to Yellowstone National Park. While there, they encounter unexpected developments: theft, robbery, and an unsolved mystery! The Magnificent Six meet and assist the local law enforcement and the FBI. The third book in the “Magnificent Six Series”, is Caribbean Cruise Summer Vacation, A Magnificent Six Adventure. Their first cruise was a major vacation for “The Magnificent Six”, their parents and grandparents. During the cruise, they visit Jamaica and Cozumel and meet some old and new friends. Along the way they encounter pirates, jewel smugglers, and a fortune teller and the adventures everyone would secretly like to experience in this beautiful Caribbean setting. It will be out in August 2009.

Carole Mumford lives in Walters, Oklahoma. She grew up in Temple, Oklahoma and graduated from Temple High School. She is retired after working thirty-six years for the U.S. government. She has been married to her husband, Jim, for over forty years and they have two children, four grandchildren and of this writing, three great-grandchildren. She is working on the fourth book of the series.
