Tuesday’s early-morning storm that moved through the area knocked out power to Frederick and Tipton, as well as to much of Tillman County and parts of Jackson County.

According to Western Farmer’s Electric Cooperative, the storm damaged a transmission line between Frederick and Hollister knocking out power to about 5,000 residences. In order to work on the equipment, the entire line had to be shut down, but most of the power was back on by 10:30 a.m. yesterday. There were also about 30 power poles downed near the municipal airport.
