On Saturday, June 23, at approximately 1:39 p.m., Altus Police officers responded to 1309 N. Crain to investigate a report of a subject who had been stabbed.

According to Altus Police Chief Tim Murphy, “Upon arriving officers found a Jermaine Alexander, 35, had suffered a stab wound to the chest. He was transported to Jackson County Memorial Hospital by EMS (Emergency Medical Services).

Preliminary reports indicate the stabbing occurred because of a family dispute. No charges have been filed at this point and the investigation continues.”
