Facility to be ready for 2010 wheat harvest

The Gavilon Grain LLC recently announced details on its new 1.3 million-bushel slip-form concrete grain elevator going in off Hwy 62 near Headrick.

"The new facility," according to the company, "will be capable of unloading up to 50 trucks, or 60,000 bushels, per hour and loading 110-car shuttles at 60,000 bushels per hour, or one car in less than four minutes. The new high-speed shuttle-loading facility is expected to receive grain from the 2010 wheat harvest."

Matt Gibson, director of merchandising and operations for the western region, said that this elevator will "complement other elevators in the Port of Catoosa in OK and Saginaw and Wichita Falls in Texas."

Mark Sethre, who has 24 years with Gavilon, will be managing the new elevator. He is "currently bidding on corn, soybeans, wheat and milo for the 2010 harvest." To contact Sethre regarding grain bids information, see the Gavilon web site at www.gavilon.com/altus or see contact information below.
