ALTUS - According to Ray Miller, LEPC chair, the City of Altus/Jackson County Local Emergency Planning Committee has announced an LEPC 101 class in Altus to be held tomorrow, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m.

In the class, students will learn what role the LEPC does in planning for hazardous materials events, funding issues with LEPCs, and other information that enables the LEPC to function.

“The area LEPC has offered this training, not only to make us better at what we do, but also to help our neighbors as they start their group,” said Lloyd Colston, vice-chair.

Seating is limited. Therefore, potential students are requested to register at http://lepc.eventbrite.com for the free class.

For more information about the LEPC, visit http://altuslepc.blogspot.com/ or call Colston at 580-481-2260.
