Maria Guerra, 85, passed away Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, in Midwest City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Sundar officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Maria was born July 14, 1927, to Jose and Paulina (Montablo) Sanchez in McAllen, Texas. She was raised by her grandmother, Ama Lupe, and she started working at a very young age. She married Alejandro Guerra in 1946 at McAllen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; grandparents; and Juan Sanchez, Esteban Sanchez, Antonio Sanchez, Delia Estraca and Jose Sanchez.

Maria is survived by six daughters, Cruzita M. Gonzales, Yolanda Alcorta, Delia Esquivel, Romanita Alcorta, Lucia Childers, and Gilda Ramirez; two sons, Alex Guerra, Jr., and Dario Guerra; three sisters, Blanche Flores, Maria Hinojosa, Janie Kimble; three brothers, Tomas Sanchez, Pedro Sanchez, Tinno Sanchez; 34 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

A Rosary service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Kincannon Funeral Home.
