OLUSTEE - Cody James came up with a big steal and hit a free throw with eight tenths of a second left on the clock to lift the Blair Broncs to a 53-52 victory over the Olustee Eagles on Tuesday night.
The Lady Broncs defeated Olustee 57-47 in the girls contest.
With the score tied, Olustee was playing for the last shot. James came up with a steal and was fouled. He made one of the two free throws giving the Broncs the victory.
Greg Daugherty scored 22 points to lead the Broncs. Cole McKee finished with 13 points. David Fixico and Tim Lobaugh poured in 17 points each to lead the Eagles.
In the girls game, the Lady Broncs shot out to a 19-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Olustee rallied to trail by just 41-35 heading into the final period.
Jessica Lewis led the Blair offensive attack with 15 points. Ashton Rackliff finished with 13 points and Candice Carney added 10.
Elizabeth Suskie led the way for Olustee with 17 points. Ashley Spann and Carmen Pence added nine each and Riley Drury scored eight.
Olustee will host Davidson on Friday and Blair will travel to Indiahoma on Tuesday.
