Debbie worked in Oklahoma City, Saint Louis, Mo., and San Antonio for Southwestern Bell for 30 years as a Corporate Manager in the Finance Department where she retired in 2001. Debbie then started a new career working part time at Blanco North Animal Hospital which was the perfect job for her to pursue her love of animals. Debbie loved dogs, the San Antonio Spurs, sports, and all of her friends and family. One of her favorite pastimes was walking her beloved dog Parker in her neighborhood where she became friends with so many dear neighbors.
Debbie was a member of Coker United Methodist Church where she was active in numerous volunteer efforts. She always had a friendly smile, loved people, and was a dear and loyal family member and friend. She touched many lives in a positive way. She loved her country and considered voting both an honor and a privilege. She grew up in a military family and always supported those who serve for our freedom and safety.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy LaFerney of Austin, Texas; sisters, Dottie LaFerney and her husband Derek King of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Toni Neal of Bozeman, Mont.; brothers, Mike LaFerney and wife Liz of Midland, Texas, and Kenny LaFerney and wife Pam of Oklahoma City; Others include cousins, Jimmy Matheson and wife Chris of Tulsa, and Judy Davis and husband Dennis of San Antonio, Texas; niece, Whitney LaFerney; nephews, Shelby LaFerney and Lindsey LaFerney; best friend, Priscilla Freiberger, as well as many, many dear friends, co-workers and neighbors, and her precious pet, Parker.
