Hospice and pallative care provides the highest quality of care to patients and families and brings comfort, love, and respect for all those served in communities across the nation and here in Altus. The hospice and pallative care professionals, including physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, counselors, health aides, and clergy provide comprehensive and compassionate care that makes the wishes of each patient and family a priority.

Every year more than 1.6 million Americans living with life-limiting illness and their families receive care from the nation’s hospice programs in communities throughout the United States. More than 468,000 trained volunteers contribute 22 million hours of service to hospice programs annually.

Mayor David Webb has proclaimed the month of November as National Hospice and Pallative Care Month in the City of Altus. He encourages citizens to increase their understanding and awareness of care at the end of the life and to observe this month with appropriate activities and programs.
