The Harmon and Jackson County Extension Offices will again offer, in conjunction with each other, Pre-Season Wheat Meetings.
These meetings are set for Monday, August 10, at two different locations and times.
The first location will be at the Gould Community Building located just east of Stockman’s Bank and will start at 11 a.m. and go to 1 p.m. The next meeting location is scheduled at the Jackson County Extension Office (located on the North side of the WOSC Campus) and will begin at 6 p.m. and go to 8 p.m. Both meetings will have sponsored meals served.
This year’s topics will include a review of the Olustee Variety Trial Results, Variety Discussion, Seed Availability and Quality, Seed Treatments, Wheat Fertility, Stocker Programs, Weed Control and Herbicide Discussion (will include discussion on use of regulated herbicides), and Farm Bill Programs. These should be informative meetings with several good speakers on the agenda.
Pre-registration is requested (but not required) by 9 a.m., Monday August 10th, to assist with final meal count planning. For more information contact either the Harmon County Extension Office at 688-3584 or the Jackson County Extension Office at 482-0823.
