The annual Sales Tax Holiday Weekend for the State of Oklahoma will be August 3, 4 and 5 this year, according to Holley Urbanski, Chamber of Commerce president. It will not be held the 10, 11 and 12 of August as it has been. The state has had the tax free weekend on the second weekend of August in prior years.
Altus retailers will have their “CRAZY DAYS” on Friday, August 3 and Saturday, August 4.
What items will be included in the sales tax holiday? According to the Oklahoma Tax Commission, “Sales of any article of clothing or footwear designed to be worn on or about the human body and the sales price of the article is less than one hundred dollars ($100)”. They also state the sales tax holiday “does not apply to the sale of any accessories, special clothing or footwear primarily designed for athletic activity or protective use that is not normally worn except when used for athletic activity or protective use, or to the rental of clothing or footwear.”
