Several claims for new City Complex on AMA agenda

The Altus Municipal Authority will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday in Council Chambers ahead of the regular City Council meeting to approve purchase orders and various claims. Claims include $308,632.42 for construction of the Altus City Hall and Safety Facility, a year's monitoring fee of $781.88 on a fire alarm system at the new facility, $2,400 for fiber optic splice at the new facility, a one-time $1,100 claim for wireless crossing at the new complex, and a wiring claim of $309,410.86 as part of the high school renovation and addition.

Finance Director Joe Don Dunham will present the financial report, and a review and consideration to authorize the City Administrator to solicit requests for qualifications from architects/architectural firms to assist the City with either the design of a fire substation, or renovations to the main fire station will be heard.

In regular session, a pinning ceremony will be held for the promotion of Altus Police Detective Tommy Uptergrove to Detective Lieutenant, and the presentation of Employee of the Quarter will be held.

Purchases orders will be presented for approval, and monthly reports and minutes will be acknowledged.

The Council will consider awarding general liability and vehicle insurance to the lowest, best and most responsible bidder. They will also consider accepting ACPC zoning recommendations.

A golf course item concerning the approval of a architect to evaluate, design, prepare estimates and bid documents is on the agenda, as is a payment request for engineering services on North Park Lane.

In executive session, the Council will address a $300 claim for damages to a lawn mower resulting from a ground rod sticking out of the ground near a transformer. They will also address the annual evaluation for Electric Department Superintendent Dan Scott, and in open session take appropriate action. Council will also discuss the annual contract with the City Administrator and in open session take any appropriate action.

The meeting is set to adjourn after the Mayor's appointments, City Administrator's comments and reports and Council members and Mayor's comments and reports.
