The Altus Lions Club meets every Thursday at noon at the Western Oklahoma State College Student Center. All Lion members and guests are encouraged to attend, and the meeting is open to the public. Southwest Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross is currently taking registration for Child/Infant CPR class to be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, April 27. This class will include certification for child/infant CPR. You must pre-register and pre-pay by April 26. For more information, call 482-5303.

Blair Public Schools will be having Pre-K Enrollment from 9 a.m. to 10 Friday, April 27, in the Blair School Cafeteria. Students must be four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2007. Duke City Wide Cleanup will be held Saturday, April 28. All volunteers welcome and must meet at the Fire Department at 8 a.m. Items that need to be picked up should be placed curbside. Separate metal items from all other items to be picked up. For large items, call City Hall at 679-3400 or Bill Crawford at 679-4816. Duke Chamber of Commerce will be serving lunch at the city park for all workers. Eddie Summers, assisted by R.B. Masters, will be in charge of the citywide cleanup.

Craft Show for Relay for Life Cancer Research will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Altus Community Center. Booths are $25 each. If interested, call Janet at 482-1208.

The Altus Reds Baseball Team will have a garage sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at Peticoat Junction. This 11 year old boys baseball team is going to the Little League World Series in Kansas and community support is needed. Anyone interested in donating items can call Tracy Ridley at 477-3220 or Kelly at 471-1335.

The Food Pantry of the Church of the Nazarene, 700 N. Main, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 28. Those in need of food assistance should bring a photo ID. For more information, call the church at 482-0964.

Altus Masonic Lodge Number 62 will conduct the yearly Student of the Day and the Teacher of the Day Program at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 29. All students and teachers who have been selected are requested to be at the Masonic Lodge, 1120 N. Hudson, for the presentations. This will be an open meeting and all families and friends are urged to attend. Seniors who participated in the senior essay program are also requested to attend to receive their certificates. Cameras are encouraged to make pictures if you desire.

The Oklahoma Arts Institute fund-raising drive will continue through Thursday, May 3. Individuals wishing to contribute to the Institute may do so by calling 482-1748 or through their OAI contact volunteers.

Altus Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #120 presents the 2007 National Police Week 5K Run and 1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk to be held at 9 a.m. May 19 at the Altus Community Center. Individuals and teams are welcomed. All participants must register and sign a waiver. No cost to participate. Donations are being accepted to benefit Altus FOP Scholarship Fund. To pre-register, pick up form at the Altus Police Department or register at 8 a.m. the day of the race.

Omicron Gamma of Beta Sigma Phi is hosting the first annual Miss Altus/Southwestern Oklahoma Outstanding Teen Pageant on Aug. 11 in Altus. Applications for contestants are currently being taken.
