Traffic stop results in drug-related arrest

Altus Police stopped a vehicle shortly after 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day at 700 East Broadway. The driver, Tychance Vanshaun Martin, 23, of Oklahoma City, led officers on a short foot pursuit before being apprehended in the alley behind the Stripes Convenience Store.

After the arrest, officers discovered cocaine and marijuana inside the vehicle Martin had been driving. Martin was transported the Jackson County Jail and charged with Driving Under the Influence, Driving Under Suspension, Possession of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute (cocaine) and Obstructing officers.
