A talented Elgin Lady Owls basketball team came to town on Tuesday night and defeated the Altus Lady Bulldogs 55-28.
The Owls entered the game as the 10th ranked team in Class 4A and they built a 29-28 lead at halftime
Any chance the Lady Bulldogs would have a chance for an upset ended when they scored only two points in the third period and faced 42-20 deficit going into the final quarter.
Poor shooting, sloppy ball handling and passing proved to be the undoing of Altus.
There were no Altus players in double figures. Ebony Nelms led the Lady Bulldogs with eight points.
Altus is now 1-2 on the season and they will host the Lady Bulldog Classic.
Altus will play Childress, Texas in the first round at 6:30 p.m.
