Sharon Kay Weber, 65, of Olustee, passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at Comanche County Memorial Hospital in Lawton.

Sharon was born Feb. 21, 1946, in Sentinel, to C.W. and Opal (Jones) Ramsey. She graduated from Burns Flat High School in 1964 and then continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She later obtained her Master’s degree at Southwestern and taught Title I for several years in the Olustee School System. For the past 10 years, Sharon taught first grade in Olustee and loved teaching young minds. She married Bruce Weber July 19, 1974, in Olustee.

Sharon loved spending time with and teaching her grandchildren the same things she taught her first graders. She was an avid reader and loved mysteries. Sharon taught Sunday School during the 1990s and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Olustee.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Opal Ramsey; two brothers, Robert Ramsey and Glen Ramsey; and two grandchildren, William Tice Weber and Kaitlynn Paige Weber.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Bruce Weber of Olustee; her father, C.W. Ramsey of Independence, Mo.; one son, William Porter Weber and wife Sheila Ann of Mustang; one daughter, Shaunna Mae Thomas and husband Justin Wayne of Ft. Worth, Texas; two brothers, Gary Ramsey of San Diego, Calif., and Dwayne Ramsey of Independence; seven grandchildren, Chelsey Weber, Lauren Weber, Emilee Weber, Tyler Weber, Meghan Weber, Aiden Thomas, Andrew Thomas, and future twin grandbabies who will be born at the end of this year.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Olustee with the Rev. Donnie Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
