Ruth Margareet Welty, 83, of Eldorado, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, in the Colonial Manor #2 Nursing Home in Hollis. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Ruth was born Oct. 14, 1923, to Anthony and Fern (Finley) Evans in Elder, Colo. She married Lee Willard Chamblin and had a son Lee in 1945. Mr. Chamblin preceded her in death in 1951. She married Philip "Pete" Welty on May 6, 1953.

Ruth was devoted to her family. One of her greatest joys was to shop and buy Christmas gifts. Ruth loved to fish and hunt with Pete. They spent 54 years, mostly in Colorado, sharing the love of the outdoors. They have been blessed with good health. The last six years they have been well cared for by their daughter-in-law Sara Chamblin.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; first husband Lee Chamblin; brother, Chester; and sister, Mariam.

She is survived by her second husband Pete Welty, step-daughter, Trudy Welty of Elbert, Colo.; son, Lee Chamblin and wife Sara of Eldorado; and many friends.
