Although cattle, four-wheelers and tractors may seem like large items to steal, they are not uncommon ones.

Since those items are generally in a rural setting, there is not the public traffic found in cities, providing almost a secure setting for criminals, said Scott Williamson, Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association field inspector.

Williamson will speak on Farm and Ranch Theft Awareness and Prevention from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Ramada Inn in Altus. A free steak dinner will also be served before the meeting begins.

"We work any type of agriculture case," Williamson said. "We work for members and non-members."

For more information about the association, visit www.texascattleraisers.org. The meeting is free, and everyone is invited to attend.
