A brief power outage occurred in the City of Altus yesterday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. when Altus Power lost a connection to the Nona Street Substation.

The incident was connected to Sunday night’s thunderstorms that rumbled through the area, toppling poles and knocking the power off line between Altus and Snyder.

City Electrical Superintendent Dan Scott said that his crew had less than a minutes notice before the interruption by outside crews repairing the lines, or they could have switched breakers eliminating power interuptions.

The outgage affected 4 feeders from Park Lane and Commerce west and south.
