The Jackson County Commissioner’s regular meeting, held Tuesday, Jan. 22, voted to clean out junk and surplus items that were not removed from storage by the previous County Clerk.
“A lot the items were not working,” explained Booker. “They were junked but never removed.” There were also six surplus items consisting of computers, printers, and monitors already declared as shown in previous minutes. Both junk and surplus items were still in storage on the day Booker took office. She wanted to re-declare these items for the record before having them finally removed.
Vice Chairman Carey Carrell called the meeting to order. Chairman Anthony Fixico was absent. As listed on the agenda for discussion, minutes from the previous meeting were approved, as well as reports and officers reports, including administration and election reports from the County Election Board, and a quarterly report for sales tax and bonds from Bank First. Two blanket purchase orders were approved, one for the Wal-mart Health Department, and one for the District Attorney’s office for Spring House water.
Commisioners also considered and approved equipment surplus for District #1 to be placed in the Statewide County Equipment Auction on March 8 & 9.
They also voted to transfer $16,800 within the County Clerks office for appropriations.
There was no new business to discuss. After commissioners approved claims, the meeting adjourned.
