Mariz Escobar of Altus was crowned UCO Miss Asian 2012 on Saturda,y Nov. 17, during the UCO Miss Asian Beauty Pageant at the University of Central Oklahoma. Central’s annual scholarship pageant celebrates Asian culture on campus. Escobar, a Forensic Science and Psychology major from Altus, received a $1,600 scholarship as a part of her winnings from the pageant.
