It was a bad start that proved costly to the Altus High Lady Bulldogs in their game with Weatherford here on Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles scored the first 13 points of the game and went on to defeat Altus 56-29.

Turnovers by the Lady Bulldogs played a big part in getting to that 13 point deficit.

Midway through the first period, Tisay Woodhouse hit a shot to end the Altus scoring drought.

Woodhouse hit a pair of free throws early in the second period and the Lady Bulldogs trailed by seven points (18-11). But that would be as close as Altus could get.

Weatherford kept adding to its lead. The Lady Eagles biggest margin crested at 53-23 late in the game.

Woodhouse led the Altus scoring attack with 10 points. Itiya Knight had six points.

The Lady Bulldogs are 1-5 on the season. They will host the Duncan Lady Demons on Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
