The Western Oklahoma State College Lady Pioneers are off to their best chance in several years.

Western earned two victories a 54-53 win over Clarendon, Texas on Saturday and 94-51 thumping of the Wayland Baptist University junior varsity here on Monday.

Coach Jerry Kassin’s club is riding a four game winning streak and has a record of 4-2.

The Wayland game was never close. The Lady Pioneers led 38-22 at halftime and never looked back. Western shot the ball well hitting 10 three-pointers.

Cierra Johnson l led Western with 15 points. She was followed by Tatyana Bell 14 points, Ebony Nelms 13 points , Jazmine Gaddis 12 points and Mahogany Nelms with 11 points.

Mahogany Nelms led Western in scoring in the Clarendon game with 14 points. She was the only player in double figures.

The Lady Pioneers avenged a 80-59 loss to Clarendon in a game play last week.

Western traveled to Bartlesville today for a 4 p.m. game with Oklahoma Wesleyan before hosting Carl Albert in a Saturday contest also at 4 p.m.
