MSgt. Lee Adkins to speak at Altus Lions Club

The Altus Lions Club will meet Thursday, Sept. 27, at noon in the Western Oklahoma State College multi-purpose room.

The Lions program this week will be provided by Lion Drew Wollenzin. He is bringing Master Sergeant Lee J. Adkins of Altus Air Force Base to present the program.

Master Sergeant Lee J. Adkins is the HQ AMC Detachment 2, KC-135 Boom Operator Aircrew Training System Quality Assurance Manager at Altus AFB, OK. The Detachment is responsible for certification of all KC-135 boom operator simulators Air Force wide. In addition to simulator certification, MSgt Adkins is an Instructor and Evaluator for the Air Force’s only KC-135R Formal Training Unit, providing initial, instructor and requalification flight training in 9 different courses to 750 active duty, reserve, guard, and international students annually. MSgt Adkins has more than 2500 flight hours in the KC-135 R and T models, and over 120 Combat Missions.

MSgt Adkins grew up in Christiansburg, Virginia. His hobbies include soccer, golf, and Virginia Tech Football. MSgt Adkins entered the Air Force in May 1997, has extensive deployment experience, and has served in support of Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. He is married with one child.
