The Jackson County Free Fair is almost here. There will be lots of activities in the upcoming fair so make sure to take the time to come out and visit during Sept. 5 through Sept. 8.
If you need a copy of this year’s fair section, and the complete schedule and description of events, be sure to come by or call the OSU Extension Office at 482-0823. Also, don’t forget the fabulous 4-H Food Booth which will again this year be serving a full meal menu, from breakfast to dinner meals including wonderful desserts. So make sure to go by and visit with the 4H members and leaders and sample some great food.
Another fun event at the fair is the beautiful baby contest hosted by KWHW. This is always a favorite activity at the fair and one that is well attended. So be sure to bring out those “Beautiful Babies” on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is required and information can be obtained from KWHW/KRKZ radio stations at 482-1450.
Also, don’t forget the livestock shows that occur on Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 6 through Sept. 8. Species being shown include chickens, rabbits, cavies, sheep, swine, goats, and cattle. Their will also be a petting zoo available during these days and of course, the famous Kevin Law Border Collie demonstration will be present on Friday and Saturday. These are always fun events with the kids, parents, and project leaders putting in a lot of work for exhibition day.
