Recent weeks have seen an abundance of moths and beetles in the area, and local OSU Extension educator Gary Strickland gives us an insight into why, and how long we can expect to deal with the critters.
“The adult Army Worm moths are migrating through the area,” said Strickland. “While here, they lay larva, which the beetles are feeding off of.” The larva are also the culprits behind holes you may have seen eaten out of your newly planted Spring gardens.
Strickland said the number of moths are already diminishing, and should be out of the area within the next two weeks.
